About Sunrise Voice
Hello!
I’m Karen Marie Norton. I’m glad you found your way here.
Sunrise Voice is a place for practical guides, useful resources, and thoughtful recommendations designed to make everyday information easier to understand and use.
I’ve always been curious.
When I come across something I don’t fully understand, or hear information that doesn’t quite make sense, I naturally want to learn more. I enjoy asking questions, comparing reliable sources, organizing what I discover, and figuring out what the information actually means in everyday life.
I’ve also learned that one of the best ways for me to understand something is to organize it and explain it clearly. If that process helps me, chances are it may help someone else too.
That simple idea is at the heart of Sunrise Voice.
My Journey
For more than 30 years, I’ve worked in communication, marketing, public relations, and web strategy. Throughout my career, I’ve had opportunities to build websites and brands, lead communication initiatives, mentor teams, and help organizations communicate with greater clarity and purpose.Today, I’m a communication professor, where I continue doing something I’ve always enjoyed: helping people understand ideas, ask better questions, and communicate more clearly. My personal experiences have influenced Sunrise Voice too. Caring for and advocating for my aging parents taught me firsthand how difficult it can be to sort through complicated information when you are trying to make important decisions. It reinforced the value of clear communication, thoughtful preparation, reliable information, and practical resources that make things a little easier. Those professional and personal experiences, along with my natural curiosity, continue to shape what I create here.
Why I Created Sunrise Voice
I created Sunrise Voice as a place to turn what I learn into something useful.
Sometimes that means researching a topic that has left me with questions. Sometimes it means creating a guide or reference I wish I’d had. Other times, it may be a simple tool that helps organize, remember, or simplify everyday life.
I also love to create. Designing a calendar from my own photography, making a word search, or turning an idea into something useful gives me a creative outlet I genuinely enjoy. Not everything I create begins with a question to research. Sometimes it begins with an idea and the desire to make something useful, interesting, or enjoyable.
When I’m researching or explaining a topic, I try to follow a thoughtful approach:
- Ask questions and look beyond the first answer.
- Use reliable sources and distinguish facts from assumptions.
- Organize complicated information so it is easier to understand.
- Create something practical from what I learn.
I don’t claim to have all the answers, and I don’t believe there is one right answer for every person or situation.
My goal is simple: make useful information easier to understand, use, and trust.
What You’ll Find Here
Sunrise Voice is growing into a collection of practical and creative resources for everyday life.
You’ll find guides and quick-reference resources that explain confusing topics, printables and simple tools that help organize everyday life, thoughtfully selected recommendations, creative projects, and occasional articles that take a closer look at topics worth understanding.
Some resources begin with a question I want to answer. Others begin with a problem I want to solve or simply something I want to create. What connects them is a desire to make something useful, clear, thoughtful, or enjoyable.
Sunrise Voice will continue to evolve as I learn, research, create, and discover new questions and ideas worth exploring.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you find something here that helps you understand a topic, make a decision, solve a problem, stay organized, or enjoy something I’ve created.
With gratitude,
Karen
